The Science Bowl is a regional academic competition among Minnesota schools in a
rapid-fire, question-and-answer format. Categories include astronomy, biology, physics,
chemistry, computer science, earth and general science and current events in the
scientific and technical community. Winners of the regional competition go on to
compete at the national level.

To compete in the Regional Science Bowl, a team of four students and one alternate
must represent a school (public, private or home-school) in Minnesota. Students in
grades 9-12 are eligible for the High School bowl. Students in grades 6-8 are eligible
for the Middle School bowl.
The cost is $150 per team.
The registration fee includes a commemorative t-shirt for each team-member and coach
and a food at the event. The fee for team registration must be received before
registration is complete.
If a school wishes to have additional teams participate they should submit all
registration forms and fees together. If there is space available after the registration
deadline, additional teams will be accepted based on the date the fee for that team
was received. If space is not available for a school's alternate team(s), any pre-paid
fees will be refunded. Please number your registration forms to indicate which team
is the primary registration and which are alternates.

Expenses for five students and one coach are paid - including travel, accommodations
and organized activities. The National Science Bowl® is sponsored by the
Department of Energy.
